Your Hypothetical Album Thread
I posted a question about this on Y!A a long while ago, and just found it again, and thought I should post it here. It's a whole bunch of questions about your hypothetical album, if you were ever to become a rapper.
What kind of artist would you be? You can be as brief or detailed as you like. Regarding questions about production and guest verses, just pretend you're some up and coming prodigy, and everyone wants to get on your album, so there aren't any money issues or anything like that. You can talk about:
i) Cover Art
ii) Subject Matter
iii) Who would produce it, whether you'd have more than one producer etc.
iv) Whether you'd have any guest verses, and who they'd be
v) Which label you'd want to release it on
Go into as much detail as you like about your hypothetical album: if you have some insane or really complex vision for it, I'd really like to hear about it.
Special Q: Which song from another already existing album would best fit on your album?

Re: Your Hypothetical Album Thread
It'd either be a a deep, exorcising my demons/social commentary type album or a fun, alternative album. Basically either Cannibal Ox or The Pharcyde.
I thought I was up for this... but I'm too drunk right now to go into it all. I'll finish in the morninh.

Re: Your Hypothetical Album Thread
Depends on subject matter
Either braggado, a crazy concept album, or an introspective album mixed with world commentary. Or a mix.
RZA and Pete Rock.
Inspectah Deck.

Re: Your Hypothetical Album Thread
Cool question...
My album would be similar to I Phantom by Mr. Lif, rapping in story-mode about every-day lifestyle. But each track would have a twist, where I would spit about how I would change each situation if it weren't for, well, rules.
Cover art- A simple cover, a knife pointing straight up with a swerving line leading to a hand on the other side of the cover, symbolizing the desire to grab the knife but it's restricted due to laws.
Subject Matter- I'd go song by song on this one, all based on the concept of every-day lifestyle. Probably have a track about working, stress, and then at the end I'll finally have reached a relaxing state.
Producers- Chill production, no bangers or any of that. I'd want to have Kanye West, Dela, Kno, Fat Jon, Q-Tip, Oddisee, Dr. Dre...
Guest Verses- I'd definitely have a few guests to change up the sound as you go through the album... I'd want someone like Evidence who'll be good but will give a break from my deep-lyrical rapping. Then I'd want someone like Nas who would drop a classic verse on it. Then someone like Qwel who is mostly unknown and you know will give you a great verse.
Label- Rhymesayers cause they're the best.

Re: Your Hypothetical Album Thread
I made this randomly one day, and thought it would look okay as an album cover.
ii) Subject Matter: Everything. Get money, shoot niggas, conscious rap, American society is twisted, to fuck the world and fuck everybody in it, I like playing Street Fighter and Pokemon games, humorous outlooks on life, etc.
iii) Who would produce it, whether you'd have more than one producer etc.: It would be produced by 9th Wonder obviously, Eric G, Oddisee, Exile, Knxwledge, etc.
iv) Whether you'd have any guest verses, and who they'd be: Obviously, I'm not gonna rap because I can't rap for shit, so I'll make it a random album with artists from everywhere. Some will be Blu, Mos Def, Evidence, Phonte, kids from Kooley High, Actual Proof, Soul Khan, Talib Kweli, Oddisee will rap/produce, etc.
v) Which label you'd want to release it on: Anyone who will promote it well lol

Re: Your Hypothetical Album Thread
The cover art would probably be me just sitting around naked with wiminz draped over my special place. They would have blood running from their necks whilst I had blood running down my jaw, from my mouth. My fangs would be showing, my hair slicked back in a count like style, yes, you are correct in your assumption, I would be a vampire. But not just any vampire, I would be Count Cockula.
The subject matter would be dealing with my adventures as Count Cockula, one moment I was an unaware naive boy who met a beautiful woman, who immediately invited me to her house. She quickly unzipped my pants revealing my penis and during her performing fellatio, she bit it, turning me into an un-witting vampire with an insatiable taste for sex and specifically, vagina juices. To me they are like blood and Count Cockula will do anything wiminz. Eye vwant to suck your cuntttttt! Would be the hook to the lead single, Count Cockula Chillin'.
Self produced baby.
No guest appearances would be necessary, I'm not into guys being involved in my own sexual exploits and I doubt I could get any females on wax. Making an album about your sexual proficiency whilst not actually having any wiminz to corroborate on my proficiency is pretty sad...
The defunct (I believe) Fondle Em would've been appropriate...
Special Q: I dunno, Lupe made some shitty song about Twilight of some shit.

Special Q: Which song from another already existing album would best fit on your album?
i) simple. probably me at a record store or a cartoon or something. either way, i'd get a designer or someone who knew what they were doing help me on my cover.
ii). various. mostly brag rap and conscious rap.
iii). Me. only me.
iv). i'd want it loaded with guest appearances because i'm not a good rapper. my wish list includes GZA, Kool G Rap, Guilty Simpson, OC, Roc Marciano, The Alchemist, Oh No, Raekwon, Planet Asia, Freddie Gibbs, Big KRIT, Phonte, Scarface, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Masta Ace, Freeway, Posdnuos, Rick Ross, MF DOOM, Sean Price, Danny Brown, Schoolboy Q, Nas, AZ, B-Real, Action Bronson, Mac Miller, Copywrite, Curren$y, Styles P, Bun B, Joell Ortiz, Black Thought, Jean Grae and Nitty Scott MC. of course, i wouldnt be able to get all of them, but there would be a lot of Posse cuts and a lot of diversity and bridging the gap between mainstream and underground.
v.) Duck Down, Fat Beats, Rhymesayers, any independent label really.

Re: Your Hypothetical Album Thread
i) A picture of me as a kid.
ii) How trill I am, how much I dislike anything north of D.C., how many hoes I got, how much doper I am than you, how much I like a good Salami, Pepperoni and Beef Pastrami sandwich, toasted with some mayonaisse and horseradish, how I bought my first legal swisher sweet at the gas station half a mile away, how much I hate Canadians, then I'd go all Charles Hamilton/Drake and make a song about Jasmine, the first bitch I fell for so I'd act all obsessive and simp-like in the song, there'd have to be some deep and psychoanalytical comparisons between me and A:Robert De Niro B: Al Pacino C: Jack Nicholson D: Frank Costello E: Ray Liotta, particularly his role in GoodFellas, and alot of other people, my conceited love of my all black Air Max 90's, my love of The Doors, my love of dark skinned bitches, my hatred of hipsters, my preference of The Amazing World of Gumball over all other current generation Cartoon Network programs, as well as my desire for Dragon Ball Z to be broadcasted on Cartoon Network just like the good ole days instead of that gay ass Kai version on Nicktoons, and brief assessment of Carl Jung's belief in art being part a communal "unconscious", and snapbacks.
iii) I'd produce the majority of it, but I'd have a 9th Wonder beat, a Madlib beat, a Clams Casino beat, and a KRIT beat, and maybe a Kanye beat as long as it's one of his College Dropout soulful chipmunk type beats and not another one of those "I can make ironic hipsterish trap music, look at me lol" beats he's been pulling out of his ass lately.
iv) A$AP Rocky, Juicy J, Nas, Yo Gotti, Reks, Add-2, Le$, S. Mental, Black Thought, Blu, MF DOOM, Ghostface, Inspectah Deck, David Banner, Curren$y, The Weeknd.
v) Idk. Def Jam?

Title: 10th Ring
Art: A man holding open a giant jaw
Subject: Dark Storytelling (Heavily influenced by the Divine Comedy)
Producer: I'm looking around for the perfect beats. So several producers
Guests: If I can get a famous rapper, I'd take it
Label: Rockafeller (But to be realistic, It'll probably be released on Colombia)
